BONITA BOWMAN SWARTZ

Bonita Bowman Swartz, age 62 of McAllen, Texas and formerly of McCreary County, passed away on Monday December 19, 2011 in McAllen, TX.

A memorial service is scheduled for 8pm Wednesday December 28, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Miller officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be Wednesday after 6pm until time for services at the funeral home.

She was born in McCreary County on February 11, 1949 to the late James Melvin and Ida Mae Morgan Bowman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Eugene, Larry and William Ray Bowman.

Survivors include her husband Clem Swartz Jr. A son, James Douglas Swartz, and grandchildren, James Douglas Swartz, Jr, and Mercy Geneva Swartz. There is one brother, David Bowman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and 5sisters, Sylvia Strunk, Fairfield, OH, Patsy Ross, Whitley City, KY, Nancy Ball, Stearns, KY, Kathy Hamlin, Stearns, KY and Pheobia Bowman of Whitley City, Kentucky.

Bonita was a member of the Stearns First Baptist Church and was a graduate of McCreary County High School and Cumberland College, where she received a teaching degree. She was a school teacher in McAllen, Texas.

Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family of Mrs. Bonita Bowman Swartz in her funeral arrangements.
