BILLY RAY HICKS

Billy Ray Hicks, age 72, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Billy was a plumber for the VA Clinic in Somerset for 20 years.  He worked in construction and had worked in asphalt and many other things.  He enjoyed fishing, being on the farm, and his little dog Gizmo who went with him everywhere.  He loved to joke around and have fun.

Billy was born on December 17, 1942, in Jellico, Tennessee, the son of the late Sherman and Bessie (Hicks) Baird. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers:  Everett, Emmitt, Paul Baird and Bobby Hicks, and sister Wilma Manis

Surviving family include his fiancé Wilma Thompson, son Bobby (and Natividad) Hicks, Bobby's mother, Tonya Meyer, son: Donald (and Angie) Hicks, step-children: Tasha Cox and Amy (and Daniel) Martin.

Grandchildren:  Holly, Michael, D.J. Dylan,

Step-grandchildren:  Austin, Christopher, Mandy, Erica and Gracee

Brothers:  Jr., Baird, Jackie Baird, Estel (and Donna) Baird, Everett Baird, Emmitt Baird and Paul Baird 

Sisters:  Shirley (and Tony) Kersey, Bonnie (and Owen) Mink, Mary (and Eddie) Muse,  Naomi (and Bruce) Ivey and brother-in-law Sam Manis.

Funeral services:  Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Pine Knot Funeral Home

Visitation:  Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home
