Betty Marie Raitt

Betty Marie Raitt age 91 of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center. 

She was born December 9, 1926 in Duluth, Minnesota to the late Fred Doyle and Anna (Harvey) Doyle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy and William Doyle; and a sister, Dorothy Minko. 

Surviving family include her sons, Daniel Raitt of Virginia, MN, and Michael Raitt (Colleen) of Shelton, WA; daughters, Sandra Ogston (Tom) of Pine Knot, KY, and Kathleen Burbal (Joe) of Kettle River, MN; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. 

Betty was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Duluth and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitley City after moving to Kentucky. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, working in her flower garden. But above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Williamsburg Street Light House Church (360 E. Williamsburg st. Whitley City, KY 42653) with Rev. James Cmolik officiating. Betty will be laid to rest in the Oneota Cemetery in Duluth, Minnesota at a later date.
