BETTY DUNCAN

Mrs. Betty Duncan, age 77, of Strunk, Kentucky passed away at the Park West Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee on Thursday, November 17, 2011.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Bryant officiating. Serving as pall bearers will be Charles Kidd, Darrell Duncan, Mike Kidd, Bobby Kidd, Kyle Guajardo, Ryan Guajardo, and Shawn Neal. She will be laid to rest at the Silerville Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until funeral time.

Betty was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She loved people and took pleasure in meeting new people and socializing. She enjoyed having and going to yard sales.

Betty was born in Stearns, Kentucky, on January 2, 1934, to the late Frank and Nola Strunk Angel. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two sons Ernest Jr. Kidd and Bruce Wayne Kidd, a step-son Luther Duncan, Jr. and a brother Freddie Angel.

On March 10, 1981, Betty was united in marriage to Edwin Luther "Luke" Duncan and they made their home in Strunk, Kentucky. Betty has four surviving children; Charles (and Tammy) Kidd of Hamilton, Ohio, Jerry Michael (and Janet) Kidd also of Hamilton, Bobby Joe Kidd of Strunk, and Stachia Angel of Strunk. Together, Betty and Luke had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her surviving brothers and sisters are Spencer, Linville, and Gary Angel, Mattie Thompson, Judy Miller and Mildred Marlow. She has a special granddaughter Tonya Kidd Brock and special great granddaughter Kortney Brock.
