Bessie Ruth Goad

Bessie Ruth Goad age 77 of Strunk, Kentucky, widow of Albert Goad, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.

She was born October 1, 1940 in Scott County, Tennessee to the late William and Clara (West) Hatfield. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Goad and a sister, Phyllis Flores.

Surviving family include her sons, Stacey Goad of Arizona and Brian Goad of Strunk, Kentucky; a daughter, Teressa Jacobson of Everett, Washington; a brother, Jack West and wife, Sherry of Interlochen, Michigan; a sister, Roselta Daltabuit and husband, Tony, of Whitley City, Kentucky; and grandchildren, Emily, Libby, Owen, and Elliott.

Bessie was a member of the Redemption Baptist Church in Mt. Pilot, Tennessee and faithfully attended the 2nd Baptist Church in Whitley City. She enjoyed church and doing good works for the Lord. Bessie also enjoyed caring for her family, working in the yard, and keeping a home.  

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Stewart and Bro. Mike Cassada officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday evening after 5:00 pm until time for funeral services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at the Pine Knot Cemetery.
