Bernice Blevins

Bernice Blevins age 87 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Signature Health Care of McCreary.

She was born September 7, 1934 in Creekmore, Kentucky to the late Andrew Lay and Thelma (Cornelius) Lay. Bernice was of the Church of God faith and was a homemaker. Bernice loved to cook and work in her garden. In her own time, she enjoyed watching gospel singing channels, game shows, and wrestling. But above all things, Bernice enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Bernice is survived by her children, Dwayne Blevins, Patricia Adams, and Regina Thomas, all of Pine Knot; a brother, Lance Lay of Williamsburg, KY; and sisters, Janet Stimmell of West Chester, Ohio and Sharon Meadows (husband, Jack) of Pine Knot.

Also surviving are Bernice’s grandchildren that she loved so dearly, Felicia Chitwood, Tyler Thomas, Nathan Thomas, and Josh Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Logan Chitwood, Breyer Chitwood, Xavier Chitwood, Braylee Thomas, and special little one on the way.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. William Kilby officiating. Burial to follow in the T Chitwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday after 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
