Barbara Ann Dople Slaven, born in Oneida , TN, on January 28, 1968, to the late J.C. and Faye (Perkins) Dople of Pine Knot, Kentucky, departed from this life on October 26, 2024, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, and is now rejoicing in her heavenly home, free from pain and suffering.
On May 1st, 2024, Barb gave her life to Jesus Christ and became a valued member of Murphy Ridge Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, she enjoyed going to church and loved to fellowship with others. Her compassionate spirit and kindness inspired many, offering a maternal figure to those around her. Her selfless commitment to helping others despite her personal struggles, evident in her goodwill gestures, such as assisting at grocery store checkouts or providing transportation to those in need. With her remarkable humor and storytelling, she transformed challenging days into uplifting experiences you were sure to laugh when she was around. Barb took great pleasure in cleaning and organizing. Her vibrant personality, and loving presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and six brothers: Jerry, Mike, Wayne, Gary, Jeffery and Ricky Jo Dople, all of Pine Knot, KY, and two sisters: Gail Dople and Donna Ball both of Pine Knot, KY. One niece Layla Angel Dople and two nephews Wendell Leon Dople and Donnie Paul Davenport.
She is survived by her two daughters: Tiffany (Jason) Terry of Greenwood, KY and Tonya (Eric) Perez of burnside, KY. Her seven grandchildren whom were her world: Jazmine, Jozie, Courtney, Gelacio, Chelsea, Galvyn, and Cloey Perez. Her five brothers: Connie, Stanley, Wendell, Teddy (Hope), and Charlie (Judy) Dople. All of Pine Knot, KY. One sister Janet (Eddie) Roberts of Greenwood, KY. She also had many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Funeral Services were Monday, November 4th, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Dean Phillips officiating. Burial followed at the T Chitwood Cemetery. The family received friends for visitation on Sunday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. at the funeral home.
