AVA L. TRUAX

Mrs. Ava L. Truax, age 80, of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, passed away Monday, September 8, 2008, at St. Mary's Scott County Hospital in Oneida, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Estill Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. View Cemetery in Stearns, Kentucky. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 a€" 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Truax was born on July 25, 1928, in Ashville, North Carolina, to the late Glade and Ada Gambrell Shope. She was retired from the McCreary County Schools as a cook having worked approximately 15 years.

Besides her parents, preceding her in death is her husband Alvin Truax, and a brother, Wilton Shope. Surviving family include a daughter Chris Kidd and her husband David of Marshes Siding, a sister Elizabeth Hollifield of Ashville, North Carolina, two grandchildren Darrin Kidd of Whitley City and Derek Kidd of Marshes Siding, three great grandchildren Darian, Hunter and Chloe Kidd.
