Mrs. Artie Kidd, age 90, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2007, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 25, 2007, at the Stearns First Baptist Church with Bro. Boyd Rowe, and Bro. Brian Hacker officiating. Special music will be provided by Bo Rowe, John Waters and Kaitlyn & Darren Keith. She will be laid to rest in the Bethel Cemetery in Pine Knot. Bro. Eddie Miller will preside over the committal service.
Artie was born on May 30, 1916, to the late Mart and Susie Sumner Hamlin. She was a homemaker and a member of the Stearns First Baptist Church. She served on the nursery and kitchen committee, and also was a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. She enjoyed her many family members and friends. She was a "grandmother and great grandmother" for all who knew her. She had a knack for growing beautiful roses. Everyone enjoyed her homemade lime pickles and creamed corn.
Preceding her in death is her parents Mart and Susie Hamlin, her husband William Alfred Kidd, her brothers: Charlie, Robert, Lawrence, Oscar, Eddie Roscoe and Jackie Hamlin, and sisters Mary Ball, Louisa Barnett, Velva Laws, Etta Stephens, Lou Barnett and a granddaughter Marti Sue Kidd. Surviving family include a daughter Barbara "Babs" Kidd of Pine Knot, a son Ray Delynn Kidd of East Alton, Illinois, three grandchildren Craig Arthur Kidd, Tracy Delynn Rosecrans and Michael Scott Kidd. There are four great grandchildren Kaitlyn Kidd, Levi Joshua Rosecrans, Cody Austin Rosecrans, and Alexandria Kidd.
