APRIL SLAVEY SMITH

April Michalle Slavey Smith, age 37 passed away at her home in Pine Knot on Thursday, July 28, 2011.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 1, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hilltop Baptist Church with Rev. David Troxell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens.

Born April 1, 1974 in LaFayette, Indiana, she was the daughter of Harold Lloyd Slavey and Rita Fay Foster Bryant. Preceding her in death is her father Harold Slavey, grandparents Cecil Foster and Charles and Alice Rose Slavey and an aunt Arlene Foster.

Surviving family include two sons Dustin Schrock of Pine Knot and John Calvin Odell Smith of Strunk, her mother and step-father Rita and Michael Bryant of Pine Knot, a brother Shane (and Kimberly) Slavey of Stearns, and a grandmother Beatrice Foster. She was loved and will be missed by many other friends and family, and nieces, nephews.

April was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and had completed her certified nursing assisting program.
