Ms. Annie Ruth (Hicks) Ridner, age 86 of Parkers Lake, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22 at the Pleasant Knob United Baptist Church with Bro. Daniel Ridener officiating. Burial will be at the Pleasant Knob Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Brenda Perry on Eagle Road Thursday after 6:00 p.m.
Ms. Ridner was born in Honeybee, Kentucky, on May 28, 1924. She was the daughter of Jasper and Allie (Vanover) Hicks. She is preceded in death by her late husband Delmar Ridner and her parents Jasper and Allie Hicks. Also preceding her in death are two sons, Earnest Ridner and Jeffrey Ridner, two daughters Alma Higginbotham and Lois Vanover, one grandson Ranzy Dewayne Ridner, a great grandson Dalton Perry, a great-granddaughter Takiyah Ridner, two sisters Nola Ridner and Clara Head and her brother Hobert Hicks. A special friend and companion Denton Junior Goodin "June" also precedes her in death.
Survivors include her sons Ranzy Ridner and Jerry Dale Ridner; daughters Dorie Goodin, Jude Rose, Bonnie Swain, Brenda Perry, all of Parkers Lake, Terese Ridner and Kathy Perry also of Parkers Lake, and Eleanora Mitchell of Eubank, Kentucky.
Ruth also leaves behind two sisters Lola Smith and Elizabeth Ridner, 32 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, 29 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and friends who will dearly miss her.
Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
