ALGIA LAY

Mr. Algia Lay, age 76 of Pine Knot passed away on Monday December 23, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Dixon and Rev. Daniel Ridener officiating. Burial will follow in the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until time for services at the funeral home.

Algia was born at Hayes Creek on January 4, 1937, son of the late Edgar (Edd) and Flora Lovett Lay. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Paul and Wilgie Lay.

Survivors include his wife Pernia and 2 sons, Jerry Lay and Terry Lay and 3 daughters, Teresa Yancey, Denise Waters and Carla Reeves. There are 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Algia had been a self employed brick layer. He was a lifetime member of the Kinne Slaven Post 115 of the American Legion. Algia had given his life to Christ and was saved on November 24, 2013 and baptized on December 18, 2013.
