ALBERT E. JONES

Mr. Albert E. Jones, age 82, of Somerset, Kentucky, formerly of McCreary County, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the Somerwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Somerset.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Mt. View Cemetery in Stearns. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until funeral service time at 1:00. Albert was born in McCreary County on January 23, 1931, to the late Sherman and Flora (Benge) Jones. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers; Herman, Oral, and Owen E. Jones and three sisters; Ola Haynes, Lura Tucker and Clora Jones. He is married to Betty M. (Bratt) Jones who lives in British Columbia, Canada. His only surviving sibling is Sterling O. Jones of Yorktown, Indiana.

Albert was retired from the United States Navy and retired from a Spokane, Washington school system. He had also been a barber in Washington. He was a member of both the VFW and the American Legion. He had been a member of the Mt. View Baptist Church.
